Going out, seeing for myself, and listening to others provides empathy and context around people and their experiences.
Interviews
I conducted stakeholder interviews with key members of the Church & State board of directors in order to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges. I also spoke with Church & State members to try and uncover hidden challenges that they are facing as members of Church & State.
Online Surveys
Taking the insight I received from my interviews I developed a survey with very precise questions to send out to all Church & State members and tenants. The goal of this survey was to create a baseline for tenant satisfaction as well as gain valuable feedback on their experience with Church & State.

Define

The right measurable outcome is based on understanding the needs, perceptions, and experiences of those we are attempting to serve.
Problem Statement
Church & State is a new unique coworking space that is looking to find a way to increase membership. The unique space offers a breathtaking atmosphere to get your work done but currently lacks in members. Coworking is a new concept to SLC and needs to find a better way to market itself to the general public as a unique coworking space and gain membership. Church & State is non-profit so it has some constraints to spending.

Multiple directions are explored, building on one another, to get to unique and desirable solutions.
Wireframes
I created wireframes to connect the visual design of the Church & State site to the information architecture. The process of wireframing helped me to uncover different methods for representing or displaying different types of content and information as well as prioritizing that content in order of importance to the user, their expectations, and their goals.

Prototypes
Creating high fidelity prototypes allowed me to explore and experiment with ideas as well as check functionality and usability with real users. After creating the visual design or the website I was able to upload them to Invision App and create a functional prototype to check for any inconsistencies or errors in my design by getting it in front of users.

Create

Testing an idea with minimal resources will lead to a better understanding of the problem and the impact your solutions might have more quickly.
